Taking care of mind, body and soul
My name is Nicholas May. I am an experienced psychotherapist offering sessions in Belfast, Holywood, and Bangor, Northern Ireland. I have an MA in mindfulness-based Core Process psychotherapy and an MSc in art psychotherapy, I am accredited with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), I am also a member of the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP). I have worked as a psychotherapist for over 10 years.
I work primarily from my practice room at home in Holywood, between Belfast & Bangor. I also offer therapy online since the COVID restrictions via zoom, although where possible, I prefer to offer in-person sessions. In addition to my practice room at home I have a therapy room with Therapy Belfast in the Botanics area of Belfast. Further to offering indoor therapy sessions, I also offer therapy in nature. If you are interested in booking a consultation with me & would like to know more about how I work, please do give me a call and also see Working with me.
The nature therapy sessions take the psychotherapeutic work into a nature-based setting. I hold nature therapy sessions in a beautiful enclosed roundhouse structure at a private farm setting in Bangor, the local coastal walk, or in woodland settings at Minnowburn or Cairn Woods. The therapeutic capacity of nature offers a unique type of holding for the work which can be very healing & supportive. (See the nature therapy section for more details.)
I am passionate about making therapy available to everyone regardless of the gender you choose to identify with. I am also passionate about offering this work to men who otherwise may not choose to consider therapy, I facilitate a men’s circle in Bangor and enjoy working with psychodrama in group settings, I am in the process of developing a model to offer this work to groups of mixed gender
