I offer a mindfulness approach - with an emphasis on wellbeing
We will explore breathing and awareness, whilst talking through any difficulty or resistance. Gradually you may begin to release old patterns of relating and thinking, through the use of meditation, body awareness, & focusing techniques; you may begin to deepen into a more embodied way of being. We will cultivate and develop a deeper awareness of how it is to simply be, becoming more familiar with, and more comfortable in, the present moment.
You may begin to experience a softening, psychic and physical, that lessens your tendency to hold to old, more conditioned ways of thinking. As we explore freeing up internal psychic space you may become more able to let go, opening to more internal space and finding more external physical space. You may begin to feel more comfortable in your own skin and have a better relationship with yourself and the world around you.
In time you will begin to feel safe and secure enough to open to a more potent interconnected field of experience that touches the transpersonal and ancestral realms of experience.
Booking a psychotherapy session
You can book an introductory psychotherapy session with me after a short conversation on the phone, or if you prefer we can arrange it solely through email. There will be no obligation to continue with the therapy, the decision to continue rests solely with you, I am very happy for you to go away and have time to think about it after our first consultation.
A typical session
I will provide a confidential, safe non-judgemental place where you can begin to tell your story. It will last 50 minutes, I may offer some reflection whilst you share your story, I will be careful not to judge or criticise and be extremely respectful and sensitive to your need to feel heard.
After the first session we will have established what it is that is important for you to address and how that might be explored and facilitated. You will have gained a clearer understanding of how I work and I will give you space to ask any questions.
I will outline a simple contract. You will be encouraged to consider allowing at least six sessions to establish whether we can work together, although this is not a requirement of the contract. You will be required to attend our session at the agreed time every week. If you are unable to attend a session, there is 24 hours notice period, prior to cancellation to rearrange a session.
Clients will begin to sense this safety as the work deepens with each session, enough to begin to explore difficult, sometimes shameful, often troubling experiences that begin to shed some light on how you actually feel about yourself.
